A Fresh Start
January 21, 2011First things first:
ITS 2011!
I know — obviously! It has been for about three weeks now, but thats just how I roll.
Here’s the scoop on the Alaska life these days:
1. This is what it looks like outside today…many of you probably think, “Hm..miserable” BUT I’m stoked. Its been like -15* for weeks on end now, and the clouds up in the sky, and the snow falling down warm me up, and make everything much prettier. Plus, in an ongoing effort to “be a real Alaskan” I can play in the snow this weekend, snowboots and all!
2. Speaking of snowboots — look at these! I may have bought them at Nordstrom, and wear them only with leggings, but they still actually keep my feet warm and dry … and cute!
3. PS — In 2011, this is me! My hair is MUCH darker, and I’m drinking … hot chocolate. Actually, it was my first and only starbuck’s run of 2011, and it was desperation (see #1, -15*). I’m done with milk, and even in my love for the company and coffee culture, I’m not about to drink black coffee (ewwww) or chug espresso shots. Plus, I’m saving tons of $$$ (lets be real though, that never mattered to me)
4. Ok — this looks super gross up on the blog — but its an important “Its 2011 and New” item as well. Remember last year — or even like, last month — when I was vegan? I’ve pretty much done a complete 180* and now focus on only have protein at my meal, often accompanied with veggies, and snacks of fruit (not to be confused with gummy fruit snacks — I wish!). This picture was my lunch yesterday — yes, I bought an entire rotisserie chicken.
5. This should surprise NONE of you — this is what it looks like to go on a weekend trip with me. Spontaneity and I have never been the best of friends. Rach and I head to Vegas next weekend for a girls trip — and I’m SO excited. In N’ Out, Pools (at which we will be the only people, as even 65* will seem like tropical summer weather to us!), crazy nights out, amazing (tax-exempt!) shopping, and on and on.
Other noteable items:
-
-
- Back in school! I’m taking “Intensive Management of Public Funds” – or as I call it “finance”. I feel like every single person in my program is in this class, its with the same professor I had last semester.
- Back to the gym! LOVING getting back into my running, spinning and weights. Much more energy — especially in the freezing cold blah winters!
-
Thats all I’ve got for today — such a random post — but all things 2011!
love.
